When you start the program it is unlikely you will be ready to compete straight away. Becoming a competitor is not an accident or a given just because you are signed into a program
There are many factors affecting each individual in terms of how long it takes to be able to compete, these include
How you train
Your starting point
Adherence to diet
State of mind
Body shape / genetics
Here are some of the things you need to do in order to become a successful competitor
SGF is probably different to your usual training and it will take time for your body to adapt, adjust and reshape. There is a specific look for different federations and category’s. We know what these are and if you want to compete your training is tailored to this even in shape team.
Even if you are not close to the stage you need to commit yourself to eating a certain way and learning dietary habits. We usually lean down first and then build upon what we have. It is not usually our method to bulk up first.
Presentation is really important. You should try to learn how to pose basic poses and walk comfortably in heels from the the get go. We have team training, one to one posing and workshops for you to book
– included in most competitive memberships
– can learn basic posing
– good to get used to be being in front of others
Competitions are judged against other people, it’s not a photo shoot where you can look good alone, what you look next to others IS important, your size and conditioning cannot be seen in photographs
– can learn posing in more detail
– get better feedback
This will not replace the need to come to TT so be seen next to others
Guidance from your coach / posing coaches
You should check in weekly and try to attend team posing sessions (studio and online) so we can see what next to others to see where you fit best.
If you use an SGF posing coach, they will feedback to your coach what you look like. We work together to see what you need.
If you have a preference for category or look please let us know. It’s important to know what you like what you don’t. We can help you find the the right category and federation that where you would genetically fit best.
Bringing it all together
All of the above factors need to come together to be able to get you to the stage. Most of the work will come from you however we do have the best results in competition in bikini and fitness model in all federations in the country so are here to guide you. In the beginning you may not know where you fit but don’t let this put you off, we all start somewhere. Becoming a successful competitor is not about a 12 week lean down.
You CAN do it
One thing we will say is that EVERYONE is capable of making it to the stage however if you are not giving 100% then it’s unlikely you will. No one said it would be easy. It takes years to become a dancer or a professional athlete (or even a good amateur one) we can probably make it to the stage first time in 6 months (it will take longer to compete at a high level) but it will everything you have & 100% commitment
We can help you choose a show and federation based on the look you have and your preferences. We will advise you how long it will take to be ready for the stage and give you realistic expectations
We run Team Posing and offer 1-2-1 Posing in person and online. We also ask you to send check in pictures in pose and weekly posing videos 12 weeks out from your show.
Different suits and styles are required for different federations, we study the competition scene so we know the latest trends and rules for each federation and category.
As with Stage Suits, different federations have different requirements and rules about shoes. We can advise the best shoes for your show.
Usually there are tanners and MUA's at shows backstage but we advise on the looks you should aim to achieve and if you choose to tan yourself, what products to use.
We will help you prep for your show every step of the way including final week prep and what to take to the show
